1. What was the problem?

After casting of workpieces (three-sided cross) they needed to be machined. 3 conical holes needed to be made with ±0.05 mm tolerance. The holes should be in the same plane with a ±0.05 mm tolerance in height. The ordered quantity of products also increased.

The main problem of the company was that the current machines did not provide the required quality of machining and the required increased quantity of products.

2. What solution did we develop?

The problem was solved by making a dedicated machine which used Suhner drilling units.

3. What benefits does the MLM company have because of this solution?

• With the use of Suhner Units they achieve the prescribed tolerance.
• With the use of Suhner Units they achieve the desired product quantity (factor x 10).
• Only one operator deals with the machine.

1. What was the problem?

Refrigerator door and cover

After welding of the workpiece the angled welds needed to be machined (the weld must not be visible) and whole surface needed to be even all over the product (visual appearance important).

The main problem of the company was that the human factor wasn’t able to ensure the required quality of machining and number of products.

2. What solution did we develop?

We solved the problem by manufacturing a robot cell in which we used a robot hand and stable grinding machines of Euro Fintec company.

3. What benefits does Gorenje Mekom have because of the solution?

• With the use ot the robot hand and stable grinding machines of Euro Fintec company they achieved the desired quality of surface machining.
• Production time is depending on the product only 4 to 6 min per product.

1. What was the problem?

Grinding of glasses frames

At surface machining of frames a very smooth, fine surface was needed due to later polishing of the product.

Company’s main problem was that with the grinding strap they did not achieve the desired surface quality. In addition the grinding straps had a very short life span.

2. What solution did we develop?

The problem was solved by using grinding belt from SUNER Abrasive Expert company in 3M Trizact quality.

3. Benefits does CARRERA OPTYL have because of the solution?

• With the use of grinding strap 3M Trizact quality they achieved the desired surface quality.
• The life span of the grinding strap increased 20 times.
